Seventy seven members including several “first timers” attended the camp, and over the week experienced a variety of weather conditions. Registration day was typical mountain weather according to some of the locals with a very heavy mist which reduced visibility dramatically. The mist persisted for two more days and then turned to rain, the forecast for the third day was for heavy rain and the organisers wisely brought the rest day forward a day. The weather then improved and the last four walking days were ideal walking weather.

There were walks for all grades planned each day, but due to lack of numbers only one D grade walk eventuated. The program ensured that all grades had the opportunity to walk in the most scenic parts of the Blue Mountains including Wentworth Falls, Katoomba Cliff tops, the Grand Canyon, several lookouts and waterfalls as well as Mt York and Leura Forest circuit. Some walks started and finished at the camp ground, while others used cars and some traveled to the start by train.

Blackheath and the surrounding towns have a variety of cafes and restaurants which many members visited throughout the week , some more than once. The camp dinner was held in Katoomba RSL club only a few kilometres  from Blackheath.
