The club’s Spring camp for 2015 was held in Quorn in September. This was the club’s first visit to Quorn since Autumn 2007 and 114 members made the journey . With so many attending accommodation was at a premium with members staying at the Caravan Park, B&B’s, Self Contained Cottages and the Outdoor Education Centre.
The Flinders were looking wonderfully green and many members felt they had never seen the country looking so lush. The scenery was certainly helped by the clear bright blue skies.
The walks were located in various areas including Dutchmans Stern, Warren Gorge, The Argadels Devils Peak and Waukarie Creek with all 4 grades walking in the same general area as each other each day. Each evening members gathered for the traditional Happy Hour to report the day’s events and plan the next day.
There were three walking days followed by a rest day and then three more walking days, on the rest day many of the members rode the Pichi Richi railway between Port Augusta and Quorn. There was also a lamb on the spit lunch at a local cafe.
The camp concluded with a dinner on the final night provided by the Hospital Auxiliary.
