Descending Mt Remarkable

B Walkers

C Grade walkers

The club celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009, and as part of the celebrations re‑enacted the first two camps the club ever held. The first of those camps was in the little town of Melrose, in the Southern Flinders Ranges at the base of Mt Remarkable, and in September 2009 over 80 members travelled to Melrose for the occasion. As usual for a major camp walks of all four grades were held each day. Both the A and the B groups reached the top of Mt Remarkable, while the C and D groups tackled something a little less demanding. As usual our luck with the weather held, the following week Melrose had 25mm of rain!
