Thirty One members set out on stage 2 of Walk the Yorke in May 2012, taking up where we left off in 2011 at Port Moorowie and finishing at Galway Bay boat ramp. This stage of the walk, around the toe of the Yorke Peninsular, passed through the rugged Innes National Park with its spectacular Cliffs.
A highlight of the this section is a visit to the old township of Inneston which provides a look back at the history of the area where several old buildings from the Gypsum mine still remain.
The walk over 9 walking days covered 176 Km and included a mixture of walking on beaches, roads and cliff tops. The group were based at the Marion Bay Caravan Park for the first part and moved to Corny Point for the last 3 days.
Plans for the next section, up the west coast, are already being made for 2013.
